Maintenance Team Member

Southward Shelving & Racking, one of NZ’s leading shelving and racking companies, is looking for a new team member for our maintenance team.  We are a Cambridge based, family owned and operated business who believe in working hard, integrity, respect, and quality.

As part of the team you will carry out repairs and maintenance to steel racking systems. You will also be involved in the installation of racking projects when needed.

Requirements:

  • Reliable, eager to learn with a positive attitude
  • Experience in the use of various power/hand tools

Any of the following abilities, experience and/or qualifications will be an advantage, but not a requirement:

  • Experience in Fabrication
  • Welding experience
  • Forklift
  • EWP
  • Working at heights
  • Fire extinguisher course
  • First Aid

We operate across New Zealand, so the ability to travel from time to time is important.  Our normal working hours are 7.30 to 16:30 but most mornings the team leave early to clients’ sites (6:00 or 6:30).

Your primary focus will be your ability to complete maintenance projects by planning, organizing and to follow instructions, while still able to see the big picture - for us to deliver our projects in a timely and satisfactory manner. Teamwork is of utmost importance, as is communication and attitude.

Team Leader: Installations

Southward Shelving & Racking, one of NZ’s leading shelving and racking companies, is looking for a reliable, results driven Installation Team leader.

You will have a proven track record of successfully supervising a team, a sharp and savvy operator with the ability to think on your feet and making sound decisions. This is a “on the tools” position where you will be actively involved on sites. You will need to prioritise tasks, deal with out of the box solutions and keep the team motivated.  You understand how important client relationships are and do your best to keep your site safe, your team efficient, and the customer happy.

We are a Cambridge based business who believe in ‘old school‘ values like working hard, integrity, reliability, respect and quality.  This role is integral to our operations and will be working closely and reporting directly to the Project Manager.

Previous experience in racking installation would be preferred, as will be the ability to understand technical drawings. A background in engineering and/or construction would be an advantage.

  • Forklift

  • Working at heights
  • Welding / fabricating
  • First Aid

We operate across New Zealand, therefor travel on short notice and for extended periods (maximum 2 weeks at a time) can be expected.
