Pallet racking

Pallet Racking Details Sheet

The Stow Pal Rack pallet racking system consists of a full range of basic components and accessories to fulfil all our your requirements.  The system is designed for the optimised storage of goods of all sizes and weights.

Boltless beam connection

All beams are fixed with the connectors to the frames. Dimensions of frames and beams are determined by the weight of the pallets they will support. Two safety pins on each side of the beam will keep it in position and prevent accidental dislodgement by the forklift truck. In case of modification of the store layout, the beams can be easily repositioned by removing the safety pins and placing the beam higher or lower on the frame.

Top beams will be welded at the top of the connector so that the top level pallets can be stored continuously over the entire length of the rack beams, which will considerably facilitate the storing of heavy pallets with varying dimensions on the upper level, leading to increased efficiency in the warehouse.

The beams are made up of 2 “C-profiles” which are “boxed” together and subsequently welded with the connector. This is a particularly solid design as the beam will be a closed square. Many competitors use the “I-beam” design which will have a tendency to “buckle” or bend under heavy weights or long beam lengths and which will subsequently have to be supported or connected depth-wise to prevent this. This of course means the use of additional material and can lead to safety hazard in the case of heavy loads.

There are different types of beams:

Standard Beam section (Box Beam) is composed out of two Box Beam welded C-profiles. It is very resistant to torsion and provides great strength and stiffness in vertical and horizontal directions.

Beam with welded L-profile is standard box beam with welded L-profile (PNBL 0448) with code PN3PL for shelves or PN5PL for floor decking.

Bolted frames - not welded

The frames are bolted together and not welded as in the case of many competitors; Bolted frames have the advantage that the frames can be assembled locally, which means that they will take up a lot less space in transport.

Furthermore, the bolted frames have the added advantage that in case the forklift truck damages one of the uprights or supports, it can be easily replaced without the need to replace the entire frame as in the case of many of the competitors’ welded constructions.

Footplates and levelling plates

Footplate – It is a connection element used for fixing the frame to the floor. The footplates are bolted on the uprights (2 x BOFT 10*25 + 2 x NUWL) and the footplates are anchored to the floor (ANEX 12*110).

Levelling Plate – To compensate the possible floor imperfections and to keep the erection tolerances within the prescribed limits, a certain number or levelling plates are put under the footplate. The standard installation includes 1 no. levelling plate 1mm and 1 no. levelling plate 3mm for every frame.

Row spacers

In double racks at least 2 row-spacers are required between each adjacent pair of upright frames. One row-spacer added every 3000mm of upright

High quality finish

All frames, beams, supports, etc. are made of pickled or sandblasted steel or galvanized steel. Almost no other manufacturer goes to such extremes as to cleanse, degrease and iron-phosphate the profiles in order to ensure unequalled quality and anti-corrosion features as STOW as the use of these raw materials and the care provided in production will ensure optimal adherence of the epoxy-polyester powder coating.

The finished coating of Stow Racking

STOW components are finished to a high standard by the electrostatic application of an epoxy-polyester powder coating, polymerized at 180oC. The paint thickness can vary between a minimum of 40 microns (inside of profiles) to a maximum of 150 microns (outside of profiles).
